Corby Freemasons help create a Summer Seating Area at Corby Diagnostic Centre

Corby Freemasons were approached by staff from the Corby diagnostic hospital who wanted to transform a disused court yard area in to a summer seating area .

With help from NHS staff set about power washing and de-weeding the area over a weekend

Once this was completed all the windows that overlook the area were cleaned.

The funds to buy planters and plants compost etc. was kindly donated by the Corby Freemasons Social and Sequence dancing group that meet once a month throughout the winter and once a week in the summer months at the Freemasons Hall on Rockingham road in Corby. ( Note all are welcome to come along even if you have never danced before).

Timber planters were purchased and these were made up and with a kind donation of some planters from another Freemason (from his garden) were filled with soil and planted up with Fuchsias, Honeysuckles and climbing Jasmine. In addition we also planted petunias and a number of other plants in between the climbers.

An old bench that had been there for over 50 years was repaired and a couple of new ones placed into the area.

Its now, as you can see from the photos , a really relaxing place for both patients and staff to relax in, especially in the current hot weather.

A Big thank you to all involved and we know it is and will cintinue to be well used in the future.
